April 5th, 2007Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition Food
At one of our last Duke of Edinburgh’s Award meetings we talked about which foods are best for eating on expeditions. Here are some ideas:
Breakfast
Thin sausages
Bacon
Rolls
Condensed milk in a tube
Dry Frosties
Lunch
Fruit
Soup
Chicken Tikka wrap
Sandwiches
Bagels
Dinner
Stew (cooked at home before you leave)
Gnocchi with tomato sauce
Beans
Soup
Finger food (like sausage rolls etc)
Tortellini
Stir fry
Mattesons sausage
Snacks
Flapjack
Brunch bars
Dried fruit
Malt loaf
Peanuts
Pringles crisps
Extra rolls
Cereal bars
Drinks
Hot chocolate with marshmallows
Diluting juice
Water
Fresh orange juice in a carton
And you’ll also need to take some emergency rations with you and in order to show that you haven’t eaten them we’ll want to see the sealed bag at end of trip. (This also means that you’ll have something nice to eat on the journey home!)
